This class, led by Dara-Lyn Shrager, will focus on the fundamentals of writing poetry. General tips for writing will be given and some poems will be read aloud. A generative exercise to develop a “list of loved words” will be conducted and, using the words, the first draft of a poem will be written.
Dara-Lyn Shrager is the Poet-in-Residence at the Princeton Public Library for Fall 2018. See events below. Her collection Whiskey, X-Ray, Yankee is available from Barrow Street Press and Amazon.
